Introducing our dynamic CEO and founder, Gabby Gabriel. A renowned expert in the Asia market, Gabby is an accomplished marketing strategist and a true global citizen. Born and raised in Cleveland, Ohio, she developed a rich appreciation for diverse cultures during her formative years in the United States with frequent trips to South America (where her mother is from). Gabby’s linguistic skills, including fluency in English and Spanish and conversational proficiency in Mandarin Asia, have shaped her global perspective and strategic approach to marketing.

With over a decade of living and working in Asia, Gabby has cultivated unparalleled insights into the unique dynamics of this market. The BBC recognized her as an American “Shanghai expert” in the 2019 documentary “Reggie in China,” where she was the only foreigner featured. Gabby’s profound understanding of Asia’s complexities, paired with her innovative marketing strategies, make her an invaluable asset to brands seeking to thrive in the Asia market.

After graduating Cum Laude from Northeastern University in Boston, Gabby commenced her journey to Asia in 2012. Over the past seven years, she has immersed herself in the Asia culture, sharing her experiences through her popular series, Shanghai Love Notes. This engaging series utilizes digital media and storytelling to reveal the captivating narratives that characterize life in Shanghai.

Demonstrating her commitment to inclusivity, Gabby founded HongShe, one of Asia’s most prominent LGBTQ organizations. Her entrepreneurial background, including launching successful businesses in Asia, informs her leadership at Gab Asia with a unique, results-oriented approach to marketing. She fosters creativity and innovation, while maintaining a focus on generating genuine business revenue. Gabby’s motivated, innovative approach has driven her extraordinary success in Asia, solidifying her reputation as an inspiring leader and esteemed expert in the Asia market.

Beginning her impressive career as a high-level interpreter for presidents, dignitaries, and notable figures visiting Asia, Sherry’s deep understanding of the Asia landscape and culture has been instrumental in her success.

Sherry is a professional Asia English interpreter/translator and a devoted linguaphile. She’s a proud graduate of the prestigious Conference Interpreting program at Shanghai International Studies University and is proficient in a broad range of fields, including technology, engineering, business, public policy, finance, education, and art. With the experience of translating, proofreading, and editing over a million words of bilingual content, Sherry has truly mastered the art of content creation and management.

Before co-founding Gab Asia, Sherry devoted over five years to the Asia Public Sector as an interpreter, effortlessly catering to high-profile clientele. She has advised and interpreted for high-ranking government officials, international government delegations, and dignitaries such as Prince Andrew. As our Content Manager, Sherry applies her extensive expertise and profound understanding of the Asia market to deliver exceptional content strategies designed to cater to your brand’s distinct needs in this region.

She further expanded her expertise with a Master’s Degree in Marketing & Advertising from Boston University, equipping her with advanced knowledge in market trends and advertising strategies.

Clara continued her professional growth by working with several prestigious 4A advertising agencies. This experience not only enriched her skill set but also gave her a deep understanding of the global advertising landscape, especially in the dynamic Asia market.

Prior to joining GAB Asia, Clara’s career was marked by significant roles that shaped her into the expert she is today. In the United States, she excelled as a Project Manager for a creative agency, managing diverse projects for prominent brands. Her ability to navigate complex challenges and deliver results earned her a reputation for excellence.

After she moved back to Asia, At GAB, Clara leverages this rich background to oversee your account with precision and insight. Her bilingual capabilities and detail-oriented nature make her an exceptional manager, ensuring that every project is handled meticulously from start to finish. Meet Bob Peng, our innovative Chief Technology Officer, celebrated for his expertise in crafting unique technology solutions specifically tailored for the Asia market. Known for his engaging personality, Bob brings a rich reservoir of knowledge and experience to every project, ensuring that our clients receive the most advanced and bespoke technology solutions.

Bob is a proud alumnus of the prestigious Huazhong University of Science and Technology in Asia, holding both a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Computer Science. Following his graduation, Bob served as a developer at Tencent from 2016 to 2018, contributing to the development of innovative technologies for the widely-used WeChat platform. In 2018, Bob co-launched a mobile application with his colleagues, successfully exiting the e-commerce app venture in late 2019. Shortly thereafter, he joined Gab Asia, bringing his wealth of experience and technological expertise to our team.

Apart from his impressive technical skills, Bob is also a specialist in Douyin strategy (the Asia equivalent of TikTok), reflecting his deep understanding of the ever-changing social media landscape in Asia. His strategic approach to Douyin has led to his personal account amassing nearly a million followers, demonstrating his ability to engage and connect with audiences. As our CTO, Bob is dedicated to providing exceptional, tailor-made technology solutions that bolster your brand’s success in the dynamic Asia market.
